How to Videobolt: Tutorial
Hey there, this guide is dedicated to showing you around Videobolt.net. Everything you need to know is really simple and covered in the 6 minute video below. If you prefer to read, go right ahead. Let's get started by finding a template.
Find a Template
Everything is divided into handy categories like slideshows, music visualizations, intros, streaming, etc. Everything you see here is a customizable template. So these pictures and texts are just placeholders. You can pick the industry you're in to see the templates with more relevant default assets. There's also stylistic filters like cinematic, stomps, 2D, 3D, minimalist, whatever fits your video's style. Of course, you can also just go with technical filters. Like format — to fit the social media you're using duration and maximum export resolution. The maximum resolution depends on the template, with some going up to 4K Ultra HD. Let's go with Sketch, which has a nice pencil sketch effect that will draw my logo.
Editor Layout
Our editor has a simple layout: on the left, you have the sidebar with all the assets you can replace in the video. This template has a logo, tagline and the audio track. Further on the left, there are sidebar tabs where you can find additional customizations. On the right, you can see the video preview and the production buttons.
Replace the Logo
Replace the logo by clicking its item in the sidebar list. You can also click the floating button in the video preview. Upload the logo from your computer or pick one that was previously uploaded from the Media Library. Once you replace the logo you should see your preview updating to reflect the new changes.
Customization — Colors
Besides replacing assets you can customize this video further. To do that head over to the sidebar and switch to the Customize tab. Here you'll see Basic and Advanced Controls. Basic is a curated shortlist of the most impactful customizations, while Advanced holds all the settings for a template — if you want to make more minute adjustments.
Let's go over the basics first. Up top, there's a couple of colored circles, though some templates could have more than two of these. What they do is group similar colors together so that you can change all of them in one click. In this case there are two main colors — black and white. Looking at the video you can see the black is used for the drawing lines and white for the background. As an example, I'll change the background to blue and the lines to white.
Customization — Fonts
This template only has one text, the tagline. To change its font, just click the font item and either pick one of the thousands of Google fonts or upload your own. I'll use Videobolt's brand font.
Customization — Advanced
This template doesn't have many Advanced Controls. It's just a more detailed list of individual elements and their colors, something that the basic controls adjust automatically. Other templates can have a more expansive list of customizations like effects and graphics, etc. Be sure to check here when trying out a new template to see everything you can adjust.
Produce & Download
You can share the lower resolution preview if you need approval or comments from a client or coworker. Otherwise, you can go ahead and export it in high definition by clicking Produce & Download. Just confirm the dialogue to begin the render. On the rendering screen, you can keep track of the progress of your video, though you can also continue using Videobolt and we'll email you when it's done.
Managing Your Assets and Videos
Now let's take a look where you can see your completed videos, Drafts and the Media Library. My Videos is home to all your HD exports. Your latest video should be at the top of the list. Videos that you didn't export in HD are automatically stored in Drafts. By default they're organized by date though you can filter and search when you're looking for an older draft. And finally, the Media Library. This is where we store everything you upload to the website: logos, pictures, lyrics, videos, music, fonts, everything.
Now you have an intro ready for export directly onto social media, YouTube, or download it to your computer and use it as part of other video content. That covers all the basics of using the platform. And now you can experiment with all the thousands of templates in the library. If you have any other questions, just hit the chat box.
Have fun making great videos.
